Just when we think we’ve seen it all, something like this comes along and proves us wrong. John Deering and Deering Banjo Company have created the latest 5 string Goodtime banjo and it’s been given a zombie treatment.
The Zombie Killer Goodtime Banjo launched at the 2013 Anaheim National Association of Music Merchandisers Trade Show where it received a very positive reception.
The 5 string banjo is inspired by the movie Zombieland. More specifically, it was inspired by Woody Harrelson’s character, Tallahassee , that uses a banjo at one point to call out zombies before bashing some zombie skull with it. Not familiar with the scene? First of all..shame on you! You’re a zombie fan that’s never seen Zombieland? Here’s the clip below. Be advised it has some strong language, violence, gore so parental discretion is advised. May not be be work or child friendly!:
This awesome zombie killer banjo features a blood splatter finish on the resonator and a bright red saw blade design flange with zombie themed cutouts. The “Zombie Killer” treatment continues on the fingerboard inlays and peghead. The Zombie Killer banjo is priced at $999.00. Click here for more photos and more details on this awesome zombie banjo.
Of course this bad boy isn’t just for looks. After all, according to the Deering Banjo Company website they’ve been making banjos since 1975 and have a staff with 231 years of combined banjo building experience! This Spring Valley, CA based company has since grown to become the largest manufacturer of American made banjos in the world.
