Be The Zombie in Dying Light!
Fans of the zombie video game genre don’t really need another reason to be excited for the upcoming Dying Light game. They got one anyway this week when WB Games and Techland officially announced the addition of “Be the Zombie” mode in the multiplayer portion for those who pre-order.
Be the Zombie is a player versus player game mode addition that allows players to stalk other players as special breed of zombie: the Night Hunter. These lethal predator zombies are bigger, faster and just plain badder. They have a unique set of skills that can apparently be upgraded as players progress.
While playing as a zombie isn’t really all that new in a video game, it appears the developers behind Dying Light have made it much more interesting. The official trailer video shows Night Stalkers streaking across roof-tops, jumping high in the air, pounding the ground high to send enemies flying back and more. One of the most unique features demonstrated shows the Night Stalker zombies zipping quickly from point to point using a tentacle like apparatus on their arm that shoots out to allow them to rapidly pull themselves forward across great distances. The Spider-Man like quality of the Night Stalker definitely can’t be missed in the trailer which you can view below:
Be the Zombie mode allows players to “invade” other player’s games adding yet another layer of creativity and strategy to gameplay.
We can definitely see some similarities between this game and past zombie games. We can also see some ways Dying Light is attempting to breathe new life into undead gaming. What are YOUR thoughts?
