The Walking Dead Season 2 Zombie Head Blu-Ray/DVD Case From McFarlane Toys

I just stumbled across a post on MTV Geek and I was pretty much blown away with zombie awesomeness. It was a sneak peek at the upcoming case for AMC’s The Walking Dead Season 2 Blu-Ray set. I know what you’re thinking, “Big deal a blu-ray case”. No my zombie friend, this isn’t JUST a case. I’ve seen a lot of zombie products in my time here at ZombieGift.com and as a zombie fan. I’m not easily impressed.  That being said…boy am I impressed. It’s a large zombie head skewered through the eyeball with a screwdriver, perched atop the Walking Dead logo.

As if the lifelike zombie head wasn’t enough, there’s more! Just grab the screwdriver and flip the zombie’s head up to reveal the special edition season 2 Blu-Ray of The Walking Dead hidden inside!

This thing is cool beyond words and is truly a work of art. This isn’t some cheap and cheesy zombie head either. The amount of detail is truly stunning and is definitely what you would expect from a large scale piece from McFarlane Toys.

There is a good reason this thing looks so lifelike. This zombie head case is based on an actual television zombie bust designed by Emmy™ Award-winning Special Effects Make-up Supervisor and Co-Executive Producer, Greg Nicotero and KNB EFX Group.

The photos here are of the prototype on display at Toy Fair 2012. Now we are trying not to get too excited because we realize the prototype and the actual production piece don’t always match when it comes to quality and level of detail.  That being said, if the production piece can capture even half of the detail and lifelike gore shown here, then zombie fans will probably go nuts for this.

I can’t imagine what the special edition Season 2 blu-ray is going to cost with this much epic zombie awesomeness. Whatever the price I suspect even zombie fans without blu-ray players are going to want it!
