What’s up my undead friends? Any time I come across a great zombie video on YouTube or other corner of the interwebz I like to share it with all of you! The zombie video I bring to you today is the perfect example.
This video, from YouTube user teddiefilms, is actually a double parody. It’s a parody of the “Dumb Ways to Die” song and video and a Walking Dead parody of sorts.
If you don’t know, “Dumb Ways to Die” was a song and animated music video that was part of a public service announcement campaign by Metro Trains in Melbourne, Australia to promote rail safety. The video first appeared around November of 2012 and basically went viral overnight. It features some dark comedy of cute animated critters doing incredibly dumb things to bring about their own death. Of course one of the dumbest being messing around near a train or traintracks. Check out the original Dumb Ways to Die video at the end of this post.
Enough about the original, let’s get to our feature presentation! This Walking Dead style Parody of Dumb Ways to Die is pretty brilliant. It’s basically a public service announcement for walkers and how they can avoid many common dumb ways to die. (Or should we say die again?)
The production value on this video is just amazing. The zombies and makeup are great, the set is awesome and the actors and choreography are professional and funny. What really impressed me was all of the relevant plot highlights from the hit TV series The Walking Dead on AMC. As a die hard Walking Dead fan I had so much fun picking up on all the inside jokes. I could spend hours telling you why I love this video, but it’s so much easier to spend a few minutes watching it yourself! I’m warning you though, if you’re behind on viewing any The Walking Dead episodes that aired prior to early December, 2012 you might want to click away. The video does contain spoilers!
