As we previously reported on Facebook<\/a>, amc has launched the newest installment of their Walking Dead<\/em> Webisode series: The Oath<\/em>. This 3 part series, directed by Greg Nicotero,is especially interesting to me because it answers a burning question many fans of the Walking Dead have wondered since Season 1 Episode 1: “Days Gone Bye.” What happened at the hospital where Rick Grimes wakes up from his coma. How did it get over run? Who put the dead inside the cafeteria and why? Who spray painted “Don’t Open Dead Inside” on the hospital cafeteria doors? The back story of what happened at the hospital are all explained in “The Oath”. While many questions are answered, probably just as many new questions are raised.<\/p>\n

This webisode series also reminds us of the human threat and the emotional side of the struggle that exists during the zombie apocalypse. You truly do “Fight The Dead” and “Fear the Living”. It’s not just the rogue bands of surviving marauders you need to fear. You need to fear those who’ve let their sanity slip away, those who might enjoy abusing new found power and even yourself if you let emotions, stress and your own fear strip you of all hope while clouding your judgement. We also see the important impact our choices make on the lives of others even during the zombie apocalypse. For your viewing pleasure and convenience we’ve posted all three parts here. Don’t miss the ending of part 3 which, in true Walking Dead<\/em> Nicotero style, leaves me dying to know what happens next!<\/p>\n

Without spoiling anything for those who haven’t watched these yet, I can’t help but wonder if the title and reference to “The Oath” has less to do with the Doctor’s Hippocratic Oath and more to do with Paul’s promise that Karina will never be alone and the “One Lives:All Live” Oath. Who would think you pack this<\/em> much win in a few short webisodes totaling just over 26 minutes?<\/p>\n
