First we have the crawler. This poor undead fool has met with a sloppy survivor who forgot the number one rule: aim for the head. He also forgot the other important rule: always double tap. This half incapacitated zombie crawls around, annoys you, and attempts to bite your ankle (much like your neighbors chihuahua).
Then there is the shambler. This guy or gal is probably the typical classic zombie. The ones you see shuffling along in those old horror flicks. Stay calm, breathe deep and aim for the head. No sweat!
Next are the walkers. At first glance these guys look normal. Then you quickly realize normal people don’t attempt to eat you and you do what ya gotta do. They still move pretty slowly so as long as you don’t get careless you’ll be find.
Next are my least favorite: runners. I just don’t like running zombies. They creep me out. Zombies are supposed to shuffle, limp, or at the most occasionally moan or utter the phrase “brains”. They aren’t supposed to be athletic. Not only do runners make me nervous, they just make life difficult. An infected hunk of flesh sprinting at you at top speed is not the time for finesse. Sling some lead, hack, throw stuff or do whatever else you have to do to stay alive and turn it into a crawler or otherwise downgrade this zombie threat!
Last but not least we have: thriller. There isn’t much to say here. When you are faced with a horde of zombies dancing to ’80s pop hits in perfect choreographed unison you are pretty much screwed. Hide, join them, or save a bullet for yourself. Those are pretty much your only options.
