When it comes to surviving the zombie apocalypse you need to use your brain before the zombies do. Shotguns, assault rifles and other firearms are great but they need to be used as a last resort. Not only will ammo be scarce when sh*t hits the fan, but society in general will be a little sketchy. What with the dead walking the earth and all people will tend to be a little desperate.
At a certain point the living will begin to turn on each other in order to acquire food and supplies. If you want to constantly be firing off round after round from your gun, go ahead. Be that guy.
