*In the episode “Cherokee Rose,” of season 2 of The Walking Dead on AMC, the survivors find a zombie at the bottom of Hershel’s well. In an attempt to salvage the water supply they attempt to lift the walker out of the well with a rope. Unfortunately the rotting bloated corpse is cut in half by the rope that the survivors are using to hoist it out. This spills its tainted entrails into the well, ruining the water supply.
